And the Rain, Rain, Rain, Came Down, Down, Down!

This is how I feel with all this rain...

The Rains came DOWN and the Floods came UP!

Check out this graph of Pineview... This is crazy!
Yesterday, Brian and I drove up with my family to look at Causey Dam. This gorgeous lake is located about a 20 minute drive up from Pineview and it's water releases into Pineview. We went up because apparently the dam is over capacity and the water is flowing over the top of it. To add to this there is a pretty big hole in the dam that splurging water.
It was pretty scary because the roar of water is so loud! Below the dam there is so much water coming out that many houses are completely flooded and even parts of the road.

Do you see the hole? Pictures don't do it justice because it is huge and the sound is roaring!

Alright, I had to throw this is because at least someone is loving all this water! :)

Parenting Preview

This week my sister Camille and her husband Ben went on a 3 day trip to Washington DC, and then off to Costa Rica for 10 days. Yes, everyone is secretly jealous and wishing to steal their tickets or jump in their luggage. But lucky for the whole family it means that little Claire Bear stay with us!

I think I caught the one time this little munchkin hasn't smiled---Literally! She is ALWAYS happy!

So for the first part of this week it was Brian and mine's turn to get a little sneak peak at what parenting would be like. I joked with him and told him that it would be good birth control for us. Boy was I wrong.
I don't think a moment goes by where Brian doesn't turn to me and say, "I want one Anna"
Oh boy! I was told that right after a couple gets married, the girl will go through a phase where she'll see all the babies in the stores or at sacrament meeting and just want a baby. I went through this stage. I was told just to make it through this little phase because then reality would hit me that we weren't ready. Well reality hit me this week and I was the one trying to convince Brian we weren't ready. He'd keep saying, "Let's have a baby" but what he really means is, "Let's have a Claire." We should just clone her. Riiiigggghhht.

Claire is the easiest baby. She isn't awake for more than 3 hours at a time. (Jealous right? I wish that could be me sometimes) So she sleeps a lot, eats, poops, and laughs and laughs. Literally. That baby does NOT stop smiling. She lets anyone hold her and play with her. When I put her down for her naps, she'll take the Binky out of my hand grab, lay down in her crib, and pull the blanket over her. WHAT BABY DOES THAT? Of course after babysitting a baby like Claire everyone would want a baby.
The reality of it is, that most babies aren't like this. I certainly wasn't. We visited my grandma the last night and she told me a story about myself I had never heard. She said that one time I was at a banquet with my family. There was an older lady in her 50s sitting across from me and I just looked and looked and looked at her. Finally I asked fairly loudly ( I was a very blunt child.. still am) "How old ARE you?"
I just want to know what Camille and Ben have done that I can replicate. She's not only a good baby, but a stinking cute one.We pretty much don't want to give her up. But how could we not?
Don't worry though, just because we got the parent preview doesn't mean we'll be having a child anytime soon. We still have lots to get under our belt before there's a baby. :)

Now you want one too. Don't ya?!

What can you do in a year?

Can you spot me?

Did you know it was a year ago today that I graduated from Weber High school? Do you want to know something even crazier?! In one year I've:
    • Entered College
    • Became an aunt in July and then an aunt to 5 more last week!
    • Worked as nanny
    • Received my first official A-
    • Found my future husband
    • Got married!
(Okay so it doesn't look like much, and I had to throw in the A- to make mine look longer compared to Brian's
But still.. Graduating, Going to College, and Getting Married is some big stuff to do in one year)

It's been 5 years since Brian graduated. Weird I know, sometimes I wonder if he ever did graduate. :) In five years he's:
    • Entered College
    • Served a mission in South Africa
    • Owned his own business
    • Worked at Coldstone and Target
    • Knocked on the door of his future wife
    • Got married!
    • Taken the MCAT and applied for Medical School
    • Stayed Ridiculously-Good-Looking

Ah Yes, Medical School

Yay! Brian took the MCAT test today!
No more of all that crazy studying!
I'm so proud of him! He studied and worked so hard to prepare for that test! It's in the Lord's hands now! We'll find out his score in about 6 weeks! Ah the nerves! :) The next step will be the applications! His plan is to be done applying by June 1. So he still has some work to do in the next couple weeks! I'm just thankful that the hardest part is over! Let summer begin!

Just because I thought it was funny.. Who doesn't love Brian Regan?

Old Faces, NEW Experiences!

This could be the START of something NEW!
This weekend was full of New Experiences! Friday night we drove down to Huntsville so that I could go to my good friend, Brandee Stokes, bridal shower! I'm way excited for her and her fiance' Trent Burke to enter the realms of marriage! Marriage is fabulous! When we pulled into my house there was a helicopter parked in the driveway. What are the odds? Turns out my dad had a friend that decided to just "drop" by.
Saturday we drove down to the Davis Hospital to share in the joy of a new nephew! Brian's older sister Sarah and her husband Brett had their third boy. The birth was such a miracle. Sarah had a scheduled C-Section and when they pulled the baby out he was rushed to the NCIU before she even got to see him because he wasn't breathing. Thanks to the modern medicine and faith and prayers the baby was strong enough that he tore off his oxygen mask the very next day and has been doing well ever since! He is expected to go home with his mom on Tuesday!

Brian's little sister, Amanda, participated in her first beauty pageant Saturday night, the South Jordan Pageant. It was so fun to see her perform. She was up against very experienced girls who had done pageants all their lives and she looked and acted way better than all of them! They had a swimsuit show, talent, performance(where she sang SO beautifully), interview question, and formal show.  She didn't receive the crown but outshone all the other girls. We are so proud of her! Check out the pictures to see how GORGEOUS she looks!

It was really hard to get a good picture, but these are all the girls. I told you Mandy looked best! :)

Marry Me! Wedding Part 2 :)

It's finally here! I am so grateful for modern technology. I love being able to relive that perfect day over and over and over. Brian is so amazing and has been since day one! Watch it and let us know what you think!
"Marry Me"
Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do
Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry Me
Today and every day
Marry Me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Together can never be close enough for me
To feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words I love you
And you're beautiful
Now that the wait is over
And love and has finally shown her my way
Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies
