BLU-RAY

I just have to announce this: I am a PROUD owner of my first BLU-RAY movie! And I only paid 5 bucks for this! I have never actually watched a Blu-Ray movie, but I'm sure it will be a great experience. Haha.

When Brian and I got married we were given a DVD player from one of our friends. I had the thought that maybe we should take it back and upgrade to a Blu-Ray player instead because I have a hunch that Blu-Ray will someday take over the world like DVD did to VHS. So I wanted to prepare for that future occasion.

WOOT!

PUMPKIN WALK

Something that Logan is famous for is their Halloween Pumpkin Walk. This is where displays (made entirely of pumpkins/vegetables) are set up in a park in North Logan where people can walk around and view each one. Brian and I went last year with our friends Jaron and Olympia and this year we went with Brian's little sister Mandy and Sam Potter. Here are just a few of our favorite displays!

Practice, Practice, PRACTICE!

As my family and friends know, I've always been a picture taker. It is just something I enjoy. I've gone through more cameras than most people go through in a lifetime, but it's because I use them. They don't just sit on a shelf from Christmas til the 4th of July.
Well my sister Camille started her own professional photography business when she was in college. I have to admit (and not just because she is my sister) I think she has a wonderful talent! She does all my family pictures and did all Brian's and My's engagement and wedding pictures. I wanted to learn more and get better at not only clicking a button, but understand ISO, aperture, white balance, and shutter speed.
So she has been teaching me and I've accompanied her on some of her photo-shoots! It's been wonderful to learn more and see my skill improve! Check it out so far! :)

Hopefully I will have more opportunities to practice, practice, PRACTICE! I have the opportunity to do some of Brian's best friend Chad Knowles and his finance's engagement pictures on Friday! So I'm really excited about that!

Here We Go AGAIN!

-Brian left me yet again for more interviews... And since I didn't really want to make anymore spider-friends, I decided I would go home for the weekend and just stick with the friends and family I already have.
-This time he went to stay with his brother Mike and his wife Robyn and their two kids (I'm so jealous).
-His first interview is Monday in Chicago and the second is Tuesday in St. Louis.

-Last week was splendid though! Brian and I went with Rebecca Tanner to see Stomp!
-Brian and I also got attacked by lady bugs at the Logan Temple. (Really though.. there are SO many!)
-We procrastinated our homework so we could spend more time together before he left.. and it was SO worth it!
-Then we looked up funny pictures: I told him if he saw anything cool or funny he would have to take a picture for me.
-Haha
-I don't know what it is about whenever Brian leaves, but I crave salads.
-So I made myself one. This time I just stuck with creamy Caesar. One cannot go wrong with a Caesar salad.

I told you I couldn't go wrong! It was VERY delicious!

-I will see Brian on Wednesday morning early.. I am very VERY excited!
-This is certainly a big adventure in our lives right now! WOOT!

Salmon Hike

Gorgeous isn't it? Brooke took this picture!
I love to hike.
Especially in the fall.
When the leaves are changing all sorts of gorgeous colors.
I love to hike even more when I'm with my family.
Especially when we make up stories along the way...
About crazy things like princes that fall on refrigerators.
And when we sing Disney songs on the top of our lungs.
Every fall up at Causey Dam the Salmon Run happens. The Salmon Run is when the Salmon swim upriver against the current. They try to get as far up the river as they can so they can spawn (lay their eggs). My mom, Raquel, Brooke and I went on a hike to see the run.

Oh and I can't forget Gus either!
You can see in these pictures all the red fish! They would just push against the current to make their way up..
You can probably guess what I did...
Yep! I successfully caught one!
We enjoyed smiling for the pictures!

The Sasquatch

This day started out with rain clouds and will end with cake! This is because it is it is someone's birthday... And it's kind of a big deal!
Sasquatch is getting old! She turned 14 today!
Happy Happy Birthday Cute Girl! We love you SO much!

If you are wondering where this girl got her nickname, here is the definition:
SASQUATCH: [sas-kwoch, -kwach]
  • (in Canadian folklore) in British Columbia, a hairy beast or manlike monster said to leave huge footprints.
  • (In Kendell legend) In the Kendell home, a sexy beast and/or skinny Snookie Monster said to have HUGE feet out of proportion with her body.
  • Another common name is Bigfoot: A large apelike creature resembling a yeti, supposedly found in northwestern America.
  • A small apelike creature resembling Brooke Kendell, supposedly found in the Kendell Home.
In other words, this girl walks on skis! :)
(Which is probably connected to why she is so amazing at sports! Those who don't know Brooke will soon know her in the future because of her wicked soccer and basketball skills. Not to mention this girl has a WOW ability with photography and art! She is VERY talented!)

I have often been asked the question on a questionnaire "Who do you look up to and why?" Though I have many people that I greatly admire and look up to, I often find myself putting down Brooke Kendell. This is because this little girl amazes me. She has so much life in her. Her sweet spirit shines from everything she does. She would never say anything rude about anyone. There have been many occasions where I have walked into her room and found her pouring over her scriptures. She is always the first one up to help and the last one to be done afterward. She is a HUGE example to me of who I want to be more like.

WE LOVE YOU BROOKE!
WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU TONIGHT!

The Burtons :)

My best friend is engaged and I am very excited! Chrysti Huntsman and Will Burton are getting married on December 20, 2011. I had to blog about it because I am just SO excited! Congratulations to the soon-to-be MR&MRS Burton!
This is her ring and I had to put a picture up because I think it is so gorgeous and unique. It fits Chrysti very well!
Will asked her on a hike at Snowbird and hired a professional photographer to hide in the bushes and take pictures. Cute huh? So here is one of them!

"The family is a creation of the Almighty. It represents the most sacred of all relationships. It represents the most serious of all undertakings. It is the fundamental organization of society. "Through the revelations of God to His Prophet came the doctrine and authority under which families are sealed together not only for this life but for all eternity."
--Gordon B. Hinckley,

Congrats to the happy couple!
They are starting Eternity off right! :)
